Redline magazine presents the “200+ Club”

Modded street legal motors outperform super cars on free DVD

Modded street legal motors outperform super cars on free DVD12/01/05 Redline, Future’s modded car bible will this month exclusively reveal footage of its first two road-legal motors to break the 200mph barrier and join the UK’s fastest growing modified car magazine’s new “200+ Club.”

A covermounted DVD with the February issue of Redline shows the record-breaking runs of a modified Mitsubishi EVO VII RSD and a Nissan Skyline Type-R, both outperforming so-called ‘super cars’ – including Ferrari’s latest offering, the Enzo – worth £450,000.

Both cars were pushed to the limit and the speeds were verified with sophisticated satellite-based GPS kit. The footage is now available for the first time on the DVD for all motoring fans to view their achievements.

The cars shatter all of Redline’s speed records for street-legal fully trimmed cars. Essex based “Rocket Ronnie” did an awe-inspiring 205mph in his Nissan Skyline Type-R over a track just 1.7 miles long. His motor did 0-60mph in just 2.99 seconds beating every recorded ‘super car’ time – including the immortal, and until now, unbeaten McLaren F1.

Simon Norris took his 730BHP EVO VII through the 200MPH barrier on its first attempt, making it the fastest Mitsubishi anywhere in the world. His car recorded 0-100mph in an earth-shattering 5.63 seconds, beating a brand-new Porsche 911 Turbo by more than 3 seconds!

Dan Lewis is editor of Redline:

“This footage is just so amazing that we had to put it out on DVD, so all Redline and motoring fans have a chance to see these fully road legal cars smashing through the 200mph barrier. These guys have spent thousands on modifying their cars and have been brave enough to push them to the limit to join the “200+ Club.” We hope other extreme car owners will come forward after seeing the DVD to put their cars to the test later this year. The “200+ Club” is the new benchmark for the ultimate in modified cars.”

The covermounted DVD features exclusive footage of both cars making their runs and joining the “200+ club”, with film from both inside and outside the car. The disc also includes highlights of last summer’s Redline Roadtrip – taking France by storm and visiting the sites, including the Eiffel Tour in a convoy of 15 modded cars.

The February issue of Redline also includes a review of the latest Cannonball 8000 and some of the greatest feature cars in the UK including a modded Lotus Espirit. It also comes with a fabulous poster of the gorgeous Sophie Howard and her 34FF crash bags.

Redline issue 86 is on sale 19 January 2005 – with a cover price of just £4.25, including the exclusive “200+ DVD” and the giant poster of Sophie Howard.
