Ultimate movie magazine reveals online presence17/10/05 The UK’s fastest-growing movie magazine, Total Film has launched a brand-new website for cinema and DVD fanatics at www.totalfilm.com.

Offering daily movie news, alongside top competitions and reviews of the very latest films and DVDs, www.totalfilm.com also premiers a fully searchable Total Film review archive. Available for the first-time anywhere, the archive spans eight years and 108 issues since the magazine first launched. With almost 5000 reviews split across cinema and DVD, movie fans never need go without the definitive Total Film rating ever again.

The website allows Total Film to get closer to the movie industry than ever before. Moments after big announcements are made, www.totalfilm.com will respond. Boosting interactivity with readers, the site also offers a forum for film fans to discuss, debate or berate any movie related topic.

Bringing over six years of web experience and development to Future, Online Editor, Liz Hawkins joined the company earlier this year to project manage and build the Total Film website. Previously responsible for the content and functionality of rental giant Blockbuster’s UK website and online store, Liz is now working with Total Film’s Editor-at-Large, Matt Mueller on an ambitious second phase of development for the website, due to launch in 2006.

Online Editor of TotalFilm.com, Liz Hawkins said:

“I’m really excited about being part of the Total Film website. I was a Total Film reader before I joined the company and as a movie fan, it’s brilliant to be able to access any review that’s ever been written by the team. We will continue to build on this foundation of great content, but we also aim to keep the site fresh with daily movie news and weekly releases, competitions and polls.”

Simon Maxwell is Publisher of Total Film:

“The launch of www.totalfilm.com is an exciting part of our ongoing development. Movies are a highly visual medium and lend themselves well to the internet, thanks to mass penetration of broadband connections. The website allows the Total Film team to interact with readers and will enable us to build on the current sales success of the magazine.

“The Total Film website will instantly make our brand more recognisable globally and gives us a strong online platform to build on – with some exciting new developments planned for the New Year. The website is also an excellent opportunity to further boost our relationship with key advertising partners and the film industry itself.”

David Maher Roberts, New Media Publishing Director added:

“Future’s New Media strategy is mainly focused on capturing the attention of enthusiasts in the entertainment, gadgets and technology sectors and the addition of www.totalfilm.com to our stable of sites has broadened our offering to consumers and advertisers alike. Watch this space for more launch activity from us in these sectors.”
