PPA International Consumer Magazine of the Year seeks new Editor
24/07/06 – Future’s award-winning gadget monthly T3 is seeking a new Editor to join its team and has announced two senior management appointments.
The new Editor will lead the Marylebone-based consumer electronics title, with a focus on developing the UK magazine – which also sets the editorial agenda for a rapidly growing number of international licenses, with 24 local editions of T3 now published.
The T3 senior management team is headed by newly appointed Publisher, Chris Kerwin, who joins Futures most licensed brand from BBC Magazines, where he was Head of New Media. Chris recently led the successful relaunches of RadioTimes.com and TopGear.com. At Future, Chris will publish all titles and websites in the T3 portfolio, including female off-shoot gadgetcandy.com and a soon-to-be-announced quarterly spin-off.
Chris is joined by former Editor, James Beechinor-Collins who takes on the newly created Editor-in-Chief role. Working with the international editorial teams, James will continue to raise the profile of T3, heading up a revamp of T3.co.uk, whilst leading brand related projects and deals.
Future’s Group Publisher for Consumer Electronics titles, Andy Ford said:
“We are looking for a new Editor to lead T3 – a massively successful brand at home and abroad, as recognised by our recent PPA award. With a growing number of international licensed editions, our UK Editor is responsible for setting the tone of T3, and their work is seen in an increasing number of countries.
As Future continues to invest heavily in the T3 brand our new Editor will work alongside the newly formed senior team – keeping us competitive in an ever-changing market. Chris and James will provide strong leadership and guidance, but the possibilities are exciting and far-reaching for the right candidate.”
Chris Kerwin, newly appointed Publisher of T3 added:
“It is fantastic to be joining Future, an ambitious and forward looking publishing company, to look after one of its key brands. T3 is in great shape, both in the UK and overseas, and is poised for yet another phase of growth and development.”
