Full of ideas for creative knittingThe Knitter – the latest magazine launch from Future – the UK’s leading craft publisher, is now on sale.

Aimed at the more experienced knitter, The Knitter looks at trends from the catwalk each month, interpreting the trends into knitwear patterns, and the first issue examines one of the key looks for the winter season – cable and lace. Focusing on the seasonal favourite of hand-knitted cable and the vintage feel of lace; patterns will allow readers to recreate a stunning cable jumper, lace-diamond coat and beautiful red cable handbag.

A whole host of knitwear designers have provided patterns for The Knitter, including Jean Moss, Sasha Kagan, Louisa Harding, author of Modern Classics: Twenty Handknit Classics for the Modern Woman, and designers from the Rowan design studio.

Readers will have the chance to win a monthly ‘stash’ bag of goodies, with the first one including a Purlescence tote bag, knitting needles, cashmere yarn, ‘Mason-Dixon: Outside the Lines’, a book by the US knitting bloggers, hand cream, laundry wash, a selection of reviewed books and other treats. Readers can phone in or text to enter and 100% of the profits will go to The Knitter’s chosen charity of the year, Macmillan Cancer Support.

The 100 page glossy magazine also includes 15 exclusive patterns, news pages, a column written by renowned US knitting bloggers ‘Mason Dixon’, 3 pages packed with all that’s new in the world of knitting and beyond, as well as book and yarn reviews.
