Future’s websites and hardcore tech titles continue growth
12/02/09 – Future, the special-interest media group, today announces the best-ever ABC result for T3, its technology lifestyle brand. The company also reports continued audience growth for its technology websites and print titles aimed at hardcore technology enthusiasts.
Reporting its best-ever print performance and a rapidly growing online audience, the T3 brand has successfully created a powerful position amongst its affluent, informed male audience, whose lives are increasingly driven by the latest consumer electronics.
T3 reports its sixth consecutive ABC circulation increase, at 60,127 copies a month. The brand has grown its print circulation by 10% in the last four years, as the monthly men’s lifestyle market has declined 50%.
T3.com now draws 680,000 unique users a month, generating 2.7m page impressions. Future continues to strengthen the T3 brand – launching successful events like the annual T3 Gadget Awards and establishing innovative distribution channels for the title. T3 now has an exclusive presence at Harrods – available on the sound and vision floor – alongside premium consumer technology brands.
Nial Ferguson is Publishing Director of T3:
“T3’s ABC performance is one of many reasons we can be cheerful – our circulation has increased, more enthusiasts are visiting T3.com and events like the T3 Gadget Awards are garnering mass consumer attention and strong industry backing. The men’s lifestyle market continues to suffer, but specialist premium titles like T3 remain strong and are the perfect antidote for advertisers who are no longer being well served by the mainstream men’s press.”
Elsewhere in Future’s technology portfolio, the appetite amongst hardcore technology enthusiasts continues to grow, with LinuxFormat, MacFormat and PhotoPlus all reporting strong double-digit increases.
Riding high on interest in all things Apple, MacFormat further increases the lead on its rivals, reporting an impressive 25% increase, selling 29,447 – its highest circulation in over a decade. Fellow computing title LinuxFormat grew 13% to 28,734 as enthusiasts sought the advice of leading experts writing exclusively for Future. Digital photography title PhotoPlus maintained its strong growth, reporting an increase of 24% year-on-year, selling 31,255 copies thanks to its specific focus on Canon digital cameras. The magazine is now the UK’s fastest-growing photography magazine.
The TechRadar Network, which aggregates computing and technology content from Future’s PC and consumer AV titles, has seen a massive increase in unique monthly users to more than 1.4m. With the rapid rise of TechRadar, Future’s technology and computing media now reaches more enthusiasts than ever before.
