The Knitter teams up with Rowan for Red Nose Day

Knit your own Red Nose corsage!

Knit your own Red Nose corsage! The Knitter is doing something ‘funny for money’ this year, and has teamed up with top knitting company Rowan to create an exclusive knitted Red Nose corsage.

Juliet Bernard, the editor of The Knitter has designed the pattern for the Red Nose corsage, which is free to download from the Rowan website (www.knitrowan.com) with a link to the Red Nose donation page (www.myrednoseday.com/theknittercorsage) where you can donate some money for the pattern to help raise money for the Comic Relief appeal.

Red Nose Day takes place on Friday 13th March, with a whole host of people doing something ‘funny for money’ in a bid to raise money for the appeal. Comic Relief spends all the money raised through Red Nose Day to give extremely poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the UK and Africa a helping hand to turn their lives around.

Juliet, Editor of The Knitter said:

“This is a cause very close to my heart and I am delighted to support Rowan’s Red Nose Day pattern. Not only is this a fun little project to knit but it will also be THE knitted accessory to be wearing on 13th March.”

Emma Wood, Consumer Manager at Rowan said:

“Rowan is delighted to be supporting Comic Relief 2009 in association with The Knitter magazine. The Knitted Red Nose has proved popular with many experience knitters who have been sending in their customised designs with colour and embellishments, we have also been inspiring new knitters to pick up a pair of needles and learn how to knit – all in aid of this great cause.”

The Knitter was launched in January this year, and is the latest magazine to come from Future, the UK’s leading craft publisher, and publisher of Simply Knitting, CrossStitcher, PaperCraft Inspirations and ScrapBook Inspirations. Aimed at the more experienced knitter, The Knitter looks at trends from the catwalk each month, interpreting the trends into knitwear patterns.
