Portfolio extension taps into UK’s fastest growing sport

Portfolio extension taps into UK’s fastest growing sportTriathlon Plus – the latest magazine from Future, the special-interest media group and UK’s leading cycling publisher – hits the newsstands on Tuesday 7th April.

The magazine will celebrate the energy, excitement and fabulous locations of triathlon’s international racing scene; it will deliver the best training advice from the top athletes in the field; and it will showcase and review state-of-the-art equipment which is fundamental to the sport.

The first issue is packed with news features, training advice and practical tips from elite triathletes. Readers will be welcomed to the magazine with a photo-feature on extreme triathlons that showcases the roughest, toughest races in this dynamic sport. An in-depth feature on training in all three disciplines will help triathletes ramping up their training at the beginning of the season, utilising the best advice from triathlon legend Simon Lessing, Australian Olympic champion Emma Snowsill and British professional triathlete Julie Dibens.

The ‘training zone’ section is packed with practical tips on injuries, diet, and training techniques. There is also the very best in product testing, featuring in-depth reviews of the latest triathlon equipment tested by a team of experienced reviewers.

The magazine celebrates the people involved in triathlon, sharing readers’ views on races and giving a voice for their passion in a regular feature ‘I Love Tri’. Inspiration comes from triathletes at every level: the first issue features a profile on Rich Allen – nine-times British champion who is coming out of retirement to compete and raise money for charity; and Martin Holden, who completed his first IronMan just 18 months after taking up the sport.

Elizabeth Hufton, Editor of Triathlon Plus said:

“Triathlon Plus is the magazine for people who love the energy and excitement of a multi-disciplinary sport. If you’re passionate about taking part and want to improve your personal best then it’s definitely the magazine for you.

The great thing about Triathlon Plus is that it’s crafted by triathletes for triathletes. We understand what triathlon is all about because we’ve been there and that enables us to bring you unrivalled advice and insight into the sport.”

Triathlon Plus extends Future’s reach into the sports sector, building on its market leadership position in cycling. Future’s cycling portfolio includes Cycling Plus, Procycling, What Mountain Bike, Mountain Biking UK, and the world’s biggest cycling website network, which includes www.bikeradar.com and www.cyclingnews.com

The first issue of Triathlon Plus will be cover mounted with a free energy drink powder from Science in Sport and goes on sale on the 7th April, with a cover price of £3.99.
