Future’s Cyclingnews new weekly podcasts off to a flying start

Design refresh for Cyclingnews sees forums and podcasts added

Cyclingnews, the world’s leading cycling website has launched a series of weekly podcasts, with 16,000 downloads in the first four weeks.

Part of Future’s BikeRadar network, www.cyclingnews.com has become the worldwide leader on the Internet for the sport of cycling, the number one summer sport in Europe and one that is growing in popularity around the world. A truly worldwide website, Cyclingnews has an editorial team spread across three continents, allowing for up to date coverage from the latest events around the world.

The new Cyclingnews podcasts run weekly, and can be downloaded via iTunes or direct from the website. Editor Daniel Benson and his BikeRadar counterpart Jeff Jones talk to riders and analyze all of the current racing news from professional cycling. The first four weeks of the podcasts have seen 16,000 downloads.

As the cycling season gets underway, the podcasts will come directly from the Spring Classics such as Tour of Flanders and Gent-Wevelgem. In July they will be part of Cyclingnews’ coverage of the Tour de France with in-depth daily race analysis from the Cyclingnews and Procycling teams.

The new podcasts are part of a design refresh which Cyclingnews is currently undergoing, with the recent addition of member forums. They have had over 4,000 posts in the first three weeks and have a diverse readership of 1,700 members from across the globe, talking about everything from road racing, track event, fitness and technology.

Daniel Benson, Managing Editor of Cyclingnews said:

“We’re excited about adding podcasts to our extensive race coverage. As the season unfolds, they’ll become a vital part of the Cyclingnews mix.”
