Celebration of the blue oval hits Northamptonshire
Classic Ford Show, the UK’s premier event for classic Ford cars, transforms Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire into a celebration of the blue oval on Sunday 31st May.
Bringing together classic Ford enthusiasts from all over Europe, the Classic Ford Show is a massive celebration of one of the most iconic automotive brands. The show at Santa Pod is the best place to see the most exciting classic Fords from the marque’s illustrious history.
Santa Pod’s famous drag strip will once again be attracting the nation’s fastest classic Fords, with the ‘Classic Ford-only Run What Ya Brung’ challenge. The strip is open from 10am through to 5pm, and gives people the chance to test their own metal on the track. The hugely popular Sideways Area gives drivers the chance to practice the art of the oversteer in a safe and legal environment, and have a bit of fun sliding around the course!
It’s not all about speed though. Classic Ford Show also plays host to some of the best presented classic Fords in the country, with hundreds of immaculately restored classics on show.
The huge retail area and auto jumble will have new and used classic Ford spares, body panels, tuning parts and services and more. Every year thousands of fans flock to the show in the hope of finding that elusive part they’ve been searching for.
Tom Clark, spokesperson for Meguiar’s UK Ltd said:
“Classic Ford Show is setting the way for the Retro scene and with the 3rd year of the Pride of Ownership looming, Meguiar’s are looking forward to the 2009 show. Last year certainly took us by surprise, not just the quality of the cars but the commitment to the cause, with most days leading to the event being wet ones we expected a quiet day…..how wrong we were!!! A great day out for everyone, track inspired or for the cleaning buffs out there, this show has it all.”
Steve Foster, Events Manager, Classic Ford Show said:
“Classic Ford Show brings together fans of Fords from the sixties through to the eighties at Santa Pod. My first car was an Anglia, and I moved on to owning and cherishing a Capri 1.6, both models being celebrated this year at the Classic Ford Show. It’s really going to be a fantastic day out for the whole family, with plenty to experience and a chance to relive some legendary cars.”
The Classic Ford Show takes place at the Santa Pod on Sunday 31st May, with free entry for under 14s and free kids entertainment. Visitors also have the chance to soak up even more of the Classic Ford Show experience by making a weekend of it! Purchase of a camping ticket includes entry from 12pm on Saturday 30th May, plus free evening entertainment including music and a classic Ford pub quiz.
Classic Ford Show is run in association with Classic Ford magazine, the UK’s leading magazine for classic Ford fans. Tickets are £16 on the gate, or £13 in advance. Camping tickets are £6. Check out www.classicfordshow.co.uk for more information.
