Animal Relentless Bike Tour & Danny MacAskill confirmed for stunt displaysFuture – the special interest media group, has strengthened its forthcoming cycling festival, BikeRadar Live, with the support of more bike industry names and stars from the world of cycling.

BikeRadar Live is teaming up with a host of leading names for the UK’s biggest cycling festival, taking place on the weekend of 30–31 May 2009 at Donington Park in Leicestershire. The latest partner to confirm is Pacific Outdoor Equipment, who will be joining the celebration of cycling.

Cycle products from Montana-based outdoor equipment company Pacific Outdoor Equipment are now available to buy in the UK, and have been confirmed as the sponsor for the Cycling Plus Sportive.

The line of products includes pannier bags and cycle accessories as well as technically superior sleeping pads and dry sacks. Their new ‘One Less Car’ series is aimed at getting more people on bikes by providing high-end, good quality weatherproof luggage and accessories.

Entrants of the Cycling Plus Sportive – supported by Pacific Outdoor Equipment will receive a free ‘D-pouch’, ideal for riders who use maps or want to keep other documents safe, the D-Pouch has a rail zip and foldable Velcro closure to keep everything dry inside. The first 500 riders over the finish line of 100 mile sportive will take home a complimentary Velcro high-visibility bike clip.

The Cycling Plus Sportive – supported by Pacific Outdoor Equipment, will back BikeRadar Live’s official charity, the Geoff Thomas Foundation. Raising funds and awareness to tackle leukaemia, the former Crystal Palace and England footballer will take part in the event itself.

Away from the racing, the Animal Relentless Bike Tour – a stunt show featuring some of the best trials riders, dirt jumpers and freeriders in the UK – is also coming to BikeRadar Live.

Riders already confirmed include trials legend Martyn Ashton and dirt jump sensation Sam Pilgrim, along with Danny MacAskill, the street rider behind a YouTube video that has recently taken the world by storm.

The Animal Relentless Bike Tour dropped in on some of the UK’s biggest festivals last year including NASS, T in the Park and Windfest.

Martyn said: “I can’t wait for BikeRadar Live! We spend all year on the Bike Tour promoting cycling all over the UK, always playing away from home if you like, so BikeRadar Live will be like our home event.

Other stars of the world of sport include Formula One legend Mark Webber and Geoff Thomas, ex-England footballer, who will both be taking part in the Cycling Plus Sportive. Tour de France winner Stephen Roche will be taking part in the Devil Takes the Hindmost race, and Graham Obree will be setting some lap times in the Procycling Hot Laps. Representing the mountain bikes, Dan and Gee Atherton will be putting on a display as they compete with the world’s best downhill and four-cross racers at the MBUK Eliminator slalom.
