Stand up and be counted – shape the shortlists for Future’s video games awards
01/05/09 – Voting is now open for the 27th Annual Golden Joystick Awards and your votes will make all the difference for the world’s favourite gaming awards show.
Head on over to www.goldenjoystick.com now and have your say with your votes helping to choose the finalists across the fifteen gamer voted categories
Make sure your favourite games, developers, publishers and retailers get the love they deserve and you could now be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes.
Organised by the special-interest media group Future, The Golden Joysticks are voted for by the only people who matter – gamers themselves. At the Joysticks you’ll find no shady industry panels calling the shots – these really are the people’s gaming awards.
The Golden Joysticks have been the ultimate accolade in gaming since 1982. When the Golden Joysticks were first dished out – the Spectrum 48k was considered next-gen and the closest UK gamers got to the internet was Teletext.
In 2008, votes were cast for the likes of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Guitar Hero III and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Will 2009 see the latest Call of Duty game walk away with another armful of awards? Should Killzone 2, Halo ODST and FIFA make it into the rankings this year? Can Nintendo translate DS sales into victory for Professor Layton? Only you can decide, because it’s only your votes that count.
Bigger and better every year, the Golden Joystick Awards attracted over 850,000 votes in 2008, and with YOUR support, the event will be even bigger in 2009.
