Future remains No.1 for cycling websites

BikeRadar.com hits 1 million unique users

BikeRadar.com hits 1 million unique users Future – the special interest media group, is celebrating the biggest month yet for BikeRadar.com, with unprecedented visitor growth for the UK’s leading cycling website.

BikeRadar.com has now hit 1 million unique users for the first time, with 1,093,668 unique users visiting the site in April 09, according to Future’s internal HBX audit.

BikeRadar.com provides a comprehensive resource for types and levels of cyclist from novice to enthusiast. It delivers unique content 24/7 from the best and most experienced team of cycling journalists from around the globe, and brings together the very best reviews and editorial from the cycling portfolio. Future’s BikeRadar Network includes BikeRadar (www.bikeradar.com) and Cycling News (www.cyclingnews.com), which attracts nearly 3m unique users a month during its peak summer season – around the Tour de France.

The success was helped by a major product launch from cycling specialists Shimano. BikeRadar were first to publish the story, with unrivalled access from the launch event. The story has since had over 20,000 views.

Other popular stories for April included a story on the continual quest for the world’s lightest bike, which generated record comment and debate. The updated video content on BikeRadar.com has also played a part in the success of the site, with 7000 plays for the latest video by the BikeRadar team on mountain bike crashes.

The website comes to life this month, in a festival celebration of cycling at BikeRadar Live. The biggest ever mass-participation cycling event to hit the UK, it will take place on the weekend of 30–31 May 2009 at Donington Park in Leicestershire.

The weekend will be packed full of races and challenges, with something for everyone, whether you want to compete, watch your friends and family or just check out some of the world’s best riders. For more details go to www.bikeradar.com/live
