Win a weekend ride with world champion Steve Peat!
The Garmin MTB Academy is heading to Glentress on Sunday 26th July, where mountain bike enthusiasts will be able to get out on the trails, and have the chance to win a weekend ride with mountain bike legend Steve Peat.
Taking place at the legendary Glentress Trail centre – recently voted as ‘the UK’s ultimate riding destination’ by Mountain Biking UK, mountain bikers will be able to take part in the Academy for free.
Steve Peat is one of the most famous downhill racers of the moment, with some his career highlights including winning three world cup championships, with 14 individual world cup wins under his belt, seven British championships and two European championships. Steve’s first foray into racing was in a cross country race as a 19 year old back in 1992. He won, but he soon moved on to downhill racing, in short, he knows everything there is to know about all-things mountain biking!
With four events throughout the summer, Glentress is the third event in the series – the winner of each round graduates to the Academy, where they’ll each win a Commencal Super 4.1 bike and a choice of Garmin units as well as the weekend ride with Steve Peat. All of the winners will also be featured in the UK’s best selling cycling magazine, Mountain Biking UK.
Riders will be able to check out the latest Garmin GPS units – including the brand new Garmin Dakota which will be shown for the first time in the UK at Glentress. They’ll be testing out the marked courses with various challenges at each event including timed sections and orienteering based tasks on some of the best mountain biking terrain in the UK. It promises to be an exhilarating ride!
Home to the infamous Spooky Woods, Glentress is an ideal location for the challenges. On Sunday 26th July, one lucky rider will walk away with a brand new Commencal Bike worth £2495, a weekend ride with Steve Peat and their very own Garmin Unit. There will also be plenty of spot prize giveaways throughout the day.
