Bauer’s former Head of Digital Sales joins special-interest media group
09/09/09– Future, the special-interest media group, today announces the appointment of Kurt Edwards as its new Digital Commercial Director.
Joining Future from his role as Head of Digital Sales for Bauer Media, Kurt is also the Association of Online Publisher’s Commercial Group Chairman. At Bauer, Kurt was responsible for leading the advertising teams selling online and mobile advertising across the company’s consumer brands. Kurt was also integral to driving digital learning across Bauer’s advertising operation. Starting at Future in early December, Kurt will report directly to Chief Operating Officer, Simon Wear.
Future has delivered milestone progress in the roll-out of its digital strategy over the last two years. The company’s websites now attract more than 25 million unique users and over 180 million page views a month globally. In addition, Future creates more than 1,500 items of engaging, targeted multimedia content every month. Its most recent online network, PhotoRadar, launched earlier this month.
Kurt began his career at Capital Radio, joining as a Graduate trainee in February 1995. He joined Bauer Media (then Emap) in 2003 where his first role was in Business Development, Interactive. He then moved to Emap Radio becoming Commercial Advertising Director of Kiss Radio before being promoted to Head of Digital Sales in 2006.
