Future appoints new Group Publisher for AV portfolio

Pat Eggington appointed for No1 portfolio in UK for consumer electronics

10/09/09 – Future, the special-interest media group, has announced the appointment of Pat Eggington as the new Group Publisher for its AV portfolio.

Pat takes over the position from Andy Ford, who leaves Future to emigrate to Australia with his family.

Pat will be responsible for the UK’s number one audio-visual technology and consumer electronics portfolio, including Home Cinema Choice, What Satellite, What Plasma and What Video along with their associated web properties. The group includes Future’s longest established magazine – Hi-Fi Choice, launched in 1973.

An experienced publisher, Pat brings 22 years of publishing knowledge to his new role at Future, most recently as Publishing Director for Crimson Customer Media, and as Publishing Director at EMAP. He was also the publisher for a variety of magazines at Haymarket including Autosport and F1 Racing.

Stuart Anderton, Publishing Director for Future’s Computing and AV portfolio said:

“I’m delighted to welcome a publisher with such vast commercial experience to the group. Pat’s background of consumer specialist magazines, websites, customer publishing and B2B work means he’s in a great position to drive our strategy of developing and monetising consumer electronics content across a variety of platforms, including print and web.

On his appointment, Pat Eggington said:

“I am delighted to be working with such a well-targeted group of titles, and in such a dynamic and innovative market. I am looking forward to realising Future’s commitment to providing the best-targeted content for the needs of AV consumers, and am excited by the challenge of delivering this content via those media channels that our readers value most.”
