Record breaking haul of votes as tech industry comes out in force for popular event
05/10/09 – Future, the special-interest media group has revealed a record breaking number of votes for the forthcoming T3 Gadget Awards, taking place in London later this month.
The annual awards are organised by Future’s technology lifestyle brand T3, across its monthly print title and fast-growing website, T3.com (http://www.t3.com)
Almost 140,000 votes were polled by T3 readers through the specially-created T3 Gadget Awards microsite (http://awards.t3.com) – an increase of 157% on 2008. Demand for tables at the event proved so popular amongst the technology industry that organisers moved it to a larger venue – The Brewery, Chiswell Street, EC1.
With 18 categories in total, ten of T3 Gadget Awards are handpicked by a leading panel of technology experts including respected bloggers and renowned journalists, including correspondents from the Daily Telegraph and Sky News. Award categories include “Tech Brand of the Year” and the hotly-contested “Gadget of the Year.”
This year, the results will be revealed by Capital FM breakfast DJ Johnny Vaughan on Wednesday, 14th October at the T3 Gadget Awards 2009, supported by official partners Qualcomm, Orange and Medion.
Widening the reach and influence of the T3 Gadget Awards in 2009 are media partners MSN, Sky News and Future’s own TechRadar Network, who will cover the results in detail. T3’s retained PR agency, Beam (www.beamagency.com) will promote the awards and their results across print, broadcast and online consumer media.
Paul Button is Publisher of T3 and Organiser of the T3 Gadget Awards:
“We have been delighted with the support from gadget lovers and the tech industry.
