Future’s Guitarist magazine celebrates 25th Anniversary with special edition

Guitarist 25th Guitarist, Britain’s longest established guitar magazine celebrates its 25th Anniversary in style, with a special collector’s edition commemorating the last quarter of a century in the guitar world.

On sale on 24th November, the special issue comes in a silver-blocked wallet and special fold-out cover, and examines the changing guitar scene from the last 25 years – looking back at the guitarists, guitars, technology developments, music, gear and more that have made the scene what it is now.

Mick Taylor, Editor of Guitarist magazine says:

“We’ve interviewed just about every major guitar star from Angus Young to Frank Zappa, and reviewed every new significant guitar, amp and effects pedal to hit the market in our 25 years. It’s a great privilege to be heading up the magazine and its exceptional team as we reach this milestone.”

“For the anniversary issue, we’ve compiled a list of The 100 Greatest Guitar Things Of The Last 25 Years, which includes the artists, gear, music and technological changes that have moved the guitar world most. It may spark a little controversy, of course!”

The ‘guitar player’s bible’, Guitarist was launched in 1984, aimed at rock, pop and blues-oriented players, enthusiasts and collectors, and was acquired by current owner Future Publishing in 1996. The magazine continues to go from strength to strength, and in February 2009 enjoyed its ninth successive annual ABC rise to 31,917, its highest ever circulation.

On the circulation performance, Mick Taylor says:

“This reflects the constant investment in quality editorial, high production values and a superb publishing and circulation team. We’ve also grown our subscription base considerably in the last two years which is a sure fire indicator that the magazine is right on the money.”

The 25th anniversary issue of Guitarist will be available on 24th November, priced at £5.50.
