Future’s Guitarist bolsters multiplatform offering with new live event

Future’s music-making portfolio is strengthening its multiplatform offerings with the launch of a new of event entitled ‘Guitarist Presents’, in partnership with Professional Music Technology (PMT).

Future is the largest publisher of guitar magazines in the world, and the biggest music-making publisher in both the US and the UK. Guitarist celebrates its 25th anniversary this month, and continues to go from strength to strength, and in February 2009 enjoyed its ninth successive annual ABC rise to 31,917, its highest ever circulation.

‘Guitarist Presents’ offers an extension of the brand’s core values; exclusive access to specialist guitar stars and the chance for audience members to meet the players and editorial team. Enthusiasts will also have the chance to browse around the PMT shop, and to check out the latest gear, as well as getting technical advice.

The ‘Guitarist Presents’ event will take place on Thursday 10th December at the PMT store in Birmingham, with headliners at the show including former ‘Guitarists Of The Year’ Dave Kilminster, Guthrie Govan and Stuart Ryan. This exclusive gig is only open to 300 people, and is an opportunity for enthusiasts to immerse themselves completely in guitars and Guitarist.

Mia Walter, Publishing Director for Future’s music-making portfolio, said:

“Guitarist Presents will bring Guitarist magazine to life and is a natural extension to the brand. We are delighted to be collaborating with PMT, the UK’s biggest MI retailer, on this new initiative.”

Craig Glover, Business Development Manager at PMT said:

“We are happy to support the Guitarist event. I think it will be the start of something special hopefully encompassing more stores and artists across the country in 2010. This will certainly be an event not to be missed, I can’t wait.”

Doors open at 6.30pm, with music starting at 7.30pm. Tickets for ‘Guitarist Presents’ are on sale at PMT Birmingham, priced at £5 – call 0121 359 5056 or visit www.guitarist.co.uk or www.musicradar.com
