15/04/10 - Future, the special-interest media group, today announces a number of changes to its games publishing team in the UK.
Lee Nutter, Associate Publisher, is promoted to Publisher and will take on responsibility for print titles GamesMaster and Nitro while continuing to look after Future’s portfolio of Nintendo products. The move reflects both Lee’s outstanding contribution to the Nintendo business and the natural synergies of these print titles with the Nintendo portfolio.
Simon Maxwell will assume responsibility for Future’s Xbox portfolio as part of his role as Group Publisher, and is actively recruiting for a new Publisher to join the group. Mark Cantwell, Associate Publisher Online, assumes additional interim responsibility for Future’s Sony portfolio.
Meanwhile, Richard Keith, Publisher has elected to leave Future at the end of May to pursue other interests. Emma Parkinson, Associate Publisher, will leave her full-time position at Future in order to return to further education, however she will continue to manage the Golden Joystick Awards event in October.
Simon Maxwell, Group Publisher, Console and Online, said:
“I’d like to thank both Richard and Emma for their great work for Future over a number of years and for all the work they have done to build the portfolios. I wish them all the best in their new ventures, they’ll be missed as part of the team. Congratulations to Lee, whose promotion to Publisher is well-deserved and reflects his excellent work to date as well as his real potential to develop the business. Our games portfolio is at a very exciting stage of development as we expand our business across print, online, events and on-console.”
In February, Future announced the appointments of Simon Maxwell to the new role of Group Publisher, Console and Online and James Binns to the new position of Head of Edge International and PC Gaming, reflecting the increasing demands and opportunities of an expanding portfolio across multiple platforms including print, online, events and on-console media.
