Senior commercial roles for Future veterans

Scott Longstaff and Sean Igoe take up new positions

17/06/10  – Future, the special-interest media group, today confirms two senior commercial appointments to its Games and Sports portfolios.

The move sees new roles for Future veterans Scott Longstaff and Sean Igoe, who have each spent more than a decade working across the company’s advertising operations.  Both will report directly to Future’s Chief Operating Officer, Simon Wear.

Following the departure of Poorvi Smith, Sean Igoe becomes Ad Sales Director for Future’s Games brands.  He moves from the company’s Sports portfolio, where he was responsible for driving client relationships, simplifying the cross-platform sales process across print, digital and events, successfully increasing advertising spent by 14% year-on-year in 2009.

In his new role, Sean’s nine-strong sales team will seek to increase value for games industry clients across Future’s diverse portfolio of games media – including Official Xbox Magazine, CVG.co.uk and Europe’s first on-console interactive show, FirstPlay.

With Sean moving to Games, Scott Longstaff becomes Commercial Director for the company’s Sports portfolio.  Moving from Future360, the in-house creative solutions team, Scott will oversee the X-strong Sports advertising team, heading the commercial development of Future’s portfolio – which includes MBUK, CyclingNews.com and the UK’s biggest cycle festival, BikeRadar Live.

In recent months, Scott has worked closely on creative solutions projects for many of the biggest names in cycling – including Garmin, Madison and Colnago.  The Future360 team now report directly to London Sales Director, Malcolm Stoodley.

Simon Wear, Chief Operating Officer, said:

“Both Scott and Sean have tremendous track records in delivering excellent value for clients, and driving best practice in ad sales at Future.  These changes will give them new challenges in two of our key portfolios.”
