Future and Sharon Osbourne Management announce ‘Metal Hammer Presents: Ozzfest’
19/07/10 – Future, the special-interest media group, today announces a new partnership with Sharon Osbourne Management to publish the first-ever officially endorsed magazine from the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne.
The one-off collectable Metal Hammer Presents: Ozzfest celebrates the triumphant return of Ozzfest, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne’s world famous travelling metal festival to the UK for the first-time in over five years. The magazine is the official companion to Ozzfest and will be available from retailers across the UK, and on-sale from merchandise stands at the festival itself.
Ozzfest 2010 invades London’s O2 Arena on Saturday, September 18th and features Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, Murderdolls and Skindred, with other acts to be confirmed. By taking over the entire O2 venue for a day of metal mayhem, Ozzfest’s Village of the Damned brings fairground rides, stalls and tattooists into the mix for an unforgettable experience. Tickets for Ozzfest cost £45.25 for general admission and are available from Ticketmaster (http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk)
Metal Hammer Presents: Ozzfest is edited by renowned rock journalists Alexander Milas and Paul Elliot. The 132-page collectors’ special is packed with in-depth coverage of all brands performing at Ozzfest UK, as well a complete history of the festival, which began in 1996. With unrivalled access to Ozzy, the Prince of Darkness speaks exclusively about his life, career and latest album, Scream in a massive 17-page interview.
The premium-priced “OzzPack” costs £7.99 and includes the Metal Hammer Presents: Ozzfest magazine, packaged with a highly collectable Ozzfest 2010 pin badge and an exclusive Ozzy Osbourne ‘Scream’ mousemat, not available elsewhere.
Chris Ingham, Group Publisher for Future’s Classic Rock and Metal Hammer brands, added:
“Metal Hammer is proud to support the return of the mighty Ozzfest to UK shores and especially at the O2 in what is shaping up to be a triumphant year for the Prince of Darkness. We couldn’t think of any better way to honour the man and the festival than issuing this unique collector’s edition OzzPack”
The partnership with Sharon Osbourne Management continues the expansion of Future’s rock music brands – earlier this year sister-title Classic Rock partnered with former Guns ‘n’ Roses Guitarist Slash and Roadrunner Records to exclusively distribute his solo debut album across the UK as part of the Classic Rock Presents: Slash fanpack, a month before conventional release.
Metal Hammer Presents: Ozzfest goes on sale across the UK from Monday, 16th August with a coverprice of £7.99
