Future’s CrossStitcher reveals a fresh new look

CrossStitcher, the UK’s number one cross stitching magazine, is unveiling a stylish new look following a major redesign.

Aimed at bringing the classic hobby up to date with modern designs, creative ideas and new techniques, the redesigned CrossStitcher is intended to broaden the appeal of the craft to a whole new audience, as well as arming established cross stitchers with new techniques and skills.

On sale 7th October, CrossStitcher unveils a more stylish and refined design and layout, with new logo.  Reflecting the current interest for all-things handmade, the editorial focus shifts to encompass on-trend, stylish ideas for creating hand stitched gifts and decorations for the home. This will also be reflected on the free covermount included each month, with the relaunch issue offering a complete stitch kit with everything you need to stitch two gingham hearts.

The reinvigorated CrossStitcher will feature a broad mix of exciting projects inspired by the latest trends, with projects that are both aspirational and achievable with a style and quality that readers would expect to find on the high street. The new 2-page ‘Buy it, stitch it’ section will showcase gorgeous gifts for under £5 by combining ordinary shop-bought items with quick cross stitch projects to create unique, personalised gifts.

The new look magazine will also feature new techniques, allowing established cross stitchers to develop and build on their existing skills. The ‘Savvy stitcher’ section will introduce a new stitching technique each month, such as appliqué, tapestry and patchwork as well as inspiring features about talented stitchers. The introduction of the ‘Out there’ section will showcase the CrossStitcher team’s favourite hot new products from the high street.

Kerry Lawrence, Group Publisher of Future’s Hobbies & Crafts portfolio said:

“Following detailed market research and feedback from our readers, we’re thrilled to reveal a stylish new look for CrossStitcher that gives our flagship craft title a modern and contemporary feel to really fit in with their homes and lifestyles. The redesigned magazine features a wide variety of inspirational, on-trend projects that showcase the beauty and versatility of this traditional craft. We’ve worked hard to maintain the identity of this much-loved magazine, whilst broadening its appeal to new crafters and those who are inspired to try cross stitch for the first time.”

Issue 232 goes on sale on 7th October, priced at £3.99 and features projects such as felt booties for babies, quirky Christmas stocking fillers, an exclusive Margaret Sherry Christmas stocking and a Jack Russell cushion in autumnal colours.
