Musicians have named John Myung, the bass guitar player behind US prog metal band Dream Theater as the “greatest bass player of all time” in a poll conducted by leading musician’s website, MusicRadar.com – scooping a massive 42% of the vote.

With musicians casting over 25,000 votes, Geddy Lee (Rush) and the late Paul Gray (Slipknot) battled it out for second and third spot. Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris, The Who’s John Entwistle and Paul McCartney also featured in the top 10.
