With the dust settling on Future’s first Producer Sessions Live event held at the SAE Institute in Hackney at the end of September – it was universally hailed a success by exhibitors, attendees and professional musicians alike. Attracting over 550 visitors throughout the weekend, the event received a great deal of interest and ongoing commitment from the music industry for further events.
Curated by Future’s leading Hi-Tech titles Computer Music and Future Music magazines and sponsored by Absolute Music, Producer Sessions Live allowed music producers to meet the great and good from the world of music production and get hands on with the latest gear. The two days of tutorials, gear demos and essential advice for upcoming producers took place over six floors, with a series of intimate workshops and demonstrations from top producers.
Appearing in the theatre were Freemasons, Danny Byrd, Dave Spoon, Sharooz, Nu-Tone, Chicane, Tommy D, Steve Mac and Alex Blanco between them responsible for hits by Madonna, Beyonce, Shakira and countless club smashes.
Melanie Power of exhibitor Time and Space said:
“The event visitors were great. They knew what they wanted and were genuinely interested in the products. We’ll definitely be doing it again next year.”
Leading House producer Steve Mac, who held his own masterclass session on Saturday, said:
“I had a great time and I’m really keen to get involved with forthcoming Producer Sessions Live events. So many positive things came out of the event for me, it was just great to share my knowledge with people that are really interested to learn.”
Rob Last, Publisher of Future’s Computer Music & Future Music titles, and Organiser of Producer Sessions Live added:
“We’re really pleased with the response from the industry, attendees and the producers themselves. From day one, everyone has enthusiastically supported the ethos of an intimate event which brings Computer Music and Future Music to life; we’re thrilled with the positive feedback that we’ve had from the event and would like to thank those who committed to the launch. We are currently working on plans for next year and will be able to announce details in the coming weeks.”
