Future, the special-interest media group and UK’s leading consumer electronics publisher has appointed Matt Hill as the new Deputy Editor for T3 magazine.
T3 is the UK’s premium technology magazine and Future’s flagship consumer technology brand, engaging with a highly tech-literate audience across the globe. T3 recently launched its iPad edition, which has already topped the iTunes charts (Free apps and Top Grossing Lifestyle app); it also has 23 international print editions, the T3.com website that attracts close to a million unique users a month, and the annual T3 Gadget Awards which recognise the best gadgets, manufacturers and people in the technology industry.
Matt brings a wealth of editorial experience to the role; among other positions he was previously Deputy Editor on Shortlist and Production/Culture Editor on Arena. His lifestyle background and solid magazine experience will help to broaden the appeal of the magazine to reach an even wider audience.
Starting in January 2011, Matt will report to T3 Editor Luke Peters. “I’m absolutely thrilled that Matt will be the latest addition to the stellar editorial team we have at T3. As technology becomes more mainstream and T3’s multi-platform brand grows to appeal to a wider consumer audience, Matt’s experience will play a crucial role to T3’s future development.”
Matt Hill said:
“As a man who has managed to crowbar technology into every possible corner of his life, whether strictly necessary or not, I am obviously ecstatic at joining the ranks of the world’s best gadget magazine. It’s a very exciting time for T3 as publishing’s future is ever more shaped by technological advances, and it now, rather fittingly, boasts a chart-topping iPad edition next to its internationally renowned magazine and website. I am very much looking forward to helping Luke and the team take the brand even further.”
Luke Peters, Editor for T3 magazine added:
“T3: iPad Edition has been a runaway success and Matt will be instrumental in bolstering our digital offering. T3 was first in the UK to publish a full magazine on iPad and we intend to keep pushing the boundaries of what iPad publishing can offer.”
