IPC’s Clair Porteous appointed as Publisher of Future’s film portfolio
5/01/11 – Future, the special-interest media group, today announces the appointment of Clair Porteous as a new Group Publisher for its film portfolio. Clair joins Future from IPC where she was Publisher of the Nuts brand for four years.
Clair will be responsible for film titles including Total Film, SFX, DVD & Blu-ray Review along with their associated web properties, specials and events. The group also includes SFX’s bi-monthly sister title Comic Heroes which has quickly become the UK’s most popular title dedicated to this booming subject area.
As publisher of Nuts, Clair transformed the brand into a massive multi-platform property, extended its online reach, as well as driving the development of phone apps, live events and branded entertainment consoles in pubs and clubs across Britain.
Stuart Galbraith moves from film to take the helm at Future’s Official Xbox 360 Magazine; independent Xbox 360 title Xbox World; and boys’ action title Nitro, effective 7th February.
Clair’s appointment follows the alignment of Future’s games and film brands into one expanded entertainment group at the end of 2010.
Simon Maxwell, Group Publisher for Future’s entertainment portfolio said:
“I’m delighted to welcome a publisher with such fantastic experience of consumer publishing to our new entertainment group. Clair has proven success of driving revenue through brand extensions and developing the UK’s leading men’s lifestyle magazine on a variety of platforms. We have big plans across the group and Clair’s experience is key to helping us drive these forward.
In addition to Stuart’s move into games, we are looking to further expand the management structure with two Associate Publisher positions to help us develop the brands further in 2011. Our games portfolio is at a very exciting stage of development as we expand our business across print, online, events and on-console.”
