Future’s bi-monthly Tap! magazine to go monthly

Future, the special-interest media group has announced that as of May, its bi-monthly magazine Tap! The iPhone and iPad magazine, will be switching to a monthly publishing model.

Launched in October 2010, Tap! was initially launched across multiple platforms in print, digital and online versions.

With UK copy sales significantly exceeding expectations, and over 2,500 Zinio copies sold on the first two issues, the title is enjoying the unprecedented growth of the iOS device ecosystem. Issue 4 (on sale 12th May) will be the first issue to move to the new schedule.

Tap! provides expert advice to guide enthusiasts to the very best apps, games and accessories for their device. Tap! is aimed at helping both newcomers to the platform as well as pros to get the very most from their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch – driven by Apple’s iOS platform.

Christopher Phin, Editor of Tap! The iPhone and iPad magazine said:
“The feedback about the magazine has been tremendously positive. Pretty much the only bad thing people have said about it is that it comes out too infrequently, so I’m delighted that we have the staff and resources to give our readers just what they’ve asked for! Apple sold 15 million of the original iPad alone even before the recent launch of the new iPad 2; we’re here to help iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users of all abilities get the best from their devices.”

Charlotte Morgan, Publisher for Future’s Technology portfolio said:
“We were confident at launch that producing an iOS title, in light of the growing popularity of Apple’s devices, was going to be a strong strategy but never envisioned such strong uptake of the title, both in print and digital versions, so early in the development of the product. We’re delighted with the response that the title has received and the ongoing opportunities in this market.”

The next issue of Tap! will be on sale 12th May, priced at £5. Visit www.tapmag.co.uk for more information, or www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/apps for details of the digital Zinio edition.
