Official Nintendo Magazine creates world-first interactive cover

Future’s Official Nintendo Magazine (ONM) is celebrating the success of the Nintendo 3DS console with a world-first interactive cover created with the help of its readers.

On sale 14th April, the next issue features the best 100 readers’ Miis on a special gatefold cover, selected from the thousands sent in by committed Nintendo fans via officialnintendomagazine.co.uk.

Readers can instantly download any Mii they like onto their 3DS console simply by scanning in the relevant QR code on the reverse of the cover.

This latest ground-breaking design follows on from the previous issue’s HD3D cover, created for the UK launch of the 3DS in March.  It cements ONM as one of the world’s most pioneering games media brands.

James Honeywell, Marketing Manager at Nintendo said:

“This is another really exciting and innovative idea from Future. The execution perfectly demonstrates a key feature of 3DS, encouraging users to create and share their Miis in a completely new way.”

Neil Long, Editor-in-Chief of Future’s Nintendo Group, added:

“Our interactive reader cover is a games media first and it reflects the new approach we’re taking with ONM. We’re always looking for new ways to entertain and inform our huge and passionate community of Nintendo fans and thanks to 3DS, 100 of our lucky readers get to star on the cover. We can’t wait to see how the community reacts to it on our relaunched website officialnintendomagazine.co.uk.”

Issue 68 also features a brilliant Zelda double bill, with in-depth previews of Ocarina Of Time and Skyward Sword. There’s also an exclusive window cling free with every copy.

Official Nintendo Magazine issue 68 goes on sale 14th April priced at £3.99. For more information, visit www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk.
