Future Publishing Australia launch new pre-teen boys magazine: HedzUp

Sydney, Australia, May 26, 2011:

Future Publishing Australia has announced the launch of HedzUp, a new magazine aimed at 8-12 year-old Australian boys. The launch issue will go on sale nationally June 6, and introduces Nick Nitro as guest editor. Along with his dog Booster they take readers through the very latest in TV, games, books, movies, sport and more.

HedzUp launch issue is A4 size, full colour, $7.95 and has over 80 pages of great content including big posters, activities, and puzzles. HedzUp also includes a fun free gift and a bonus interactive DVD featuring games demos, movie trailers and other fantastic content – making it the best value kids mag on the news stand. The launch issue will be on sale for 3 months.

Damian Francis, Managing Editor, Future Publishing Australia said: “The launch of HedzUp is an exciting addition to our portfolio and something we believe this pre-teen male audience will absolutely love. There are new characters to meet, plus puzzles, reviews, previews and posters galore. It kept us immensely entertained creating it and we are sure it will keep readers similarly entertained. When they’re done with the magazine, they still have the bonus DVD as well which is packed with more great content.”

Karl Penn, Managing Director, Future Publishing Australia said: “Whilst the Australian magazine sector has its challenges we feel there will always be room for innovative new products that bring a fresh approach to established sectors. That’s a point also supported by the level of positive feedback the team have received from the market when first introduced to the HedzUp concept – in particular the possibilities to deliver ‘digital’ content via the DVD in a safe, low-cost environment. We can’t wait to get feedback from readers, and already have big plans for issue 2, on sale in September!”

The launch issue of HedzUp will be distributed nationally into newsagents via Gordon & Gotch, and will be supported with retail POS, print and online promotion during the onsale period, and a targeted sampling campaign.
