Future named top digital publisher with two wins at AOP Awards 2011

10/06/11 Future, the leading specialist interest media group, picked up the two biggest awards of the night at the annual Association of Online Publishers Awards 2011 last night.

In the most coveted awards of the digital publishing industry, Future was named Best Digital Publisher – Consumer.

The judging panel said: “The judges were impressed with the ‘launch and learn’ approach of launching quickly and inexpensively. Success across readership, revenues, new launches, marketplace positioning, social media, engagement and customer service show a solid strategic approach across the company.”

And to complete the celebrations, Future also netted the biggest prize of the night – walking away with the AOP Grand Prix Award.

The judges added: “Future have had an outstanding 2010 in digital, significantly shifting the dial across all their sites and assets. They set a great example to other companies that you don’t need mega budgets to transform your business, just an entrepreneurial and consistent attitude to new media across the organisation.”

The AOP Awards were judged by more than 80 representatives of publishers, tech providers and suppliers to the media industry. The Grand Prix was judged by an independent panel.

Future’s leading technology website www.techradar.com was also highly commended in the Consumer Website category.

Future UK CEO Mark Wood says: “The Award for best Digital Publisher confirms Future as a leader among UK publishers in transforming its business model.
