Test your sci-fi knowledge with SFX

04/11/11 – Sci-fi fans the world over can now test their knowledge – and pit their wits against each other – thanks to the launch of the SFX Sci-Fi Quiz, the first trivia app from the makers of the world’s leading sci-fi and fantasy magazine.

Available for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad for just 69p, the SFX Sci-Fi Quiz is packed with more than 1,000 fun brainteasers covering all aspects of the genre. Complied by the experts at SFX, the five categories of multiple-choice questions will have you scratching your head and coming back for more.

You’ll need to know your Davros from your Daredevil, your Klingons from your Vogons and your Hobbits from your House Harkonnen to stand a chance of winning a place on the leader board.

Three difficulty levels – Close Encounter (easy), First Contact (normal) and Invasive Probing (difficult) – make it fun for sci-fi fans of all ages, whether beginners or experts.

And if your top score is worth sharing, the app makes it simple to do so via Twitter or Facebook.

The SFX Sci-Fi Quiz (created in association with Spokenworld Audio) is the perfect companion for any dedicated fan of sci-fi films, television and books.

Dave Bradley, Editor-in-Chief of SFX, says: “This app is like having a pub quiz in your pocket. There are five categories designed to be pretty fiendish tests of your sci-fi knowledge – it’s not easy to get your name in the high score table!”

As well as the SFX Sci-Fi quiz, you can now read the galaxy’s no.1 sci-fi, fantasy and horror magazine on your Apple device every month – just visit the iTunes Store to download the latest issue or subscribe.

Clair Porteous, Group Publisher of SFX, says: “No one knows sci-fi like SFX and this quiz app is fantastic fun. Events like the SFX Weekender show us that sci-fi fans are rightly proud of their knowledge, so this app is a natural next step for the brand.”

The SFX Sci-Fi Quiz is available to download now from http://bit.ly/SFXGameUK. To buy digital editions of SFX visit iTunes or www.zinio.com/sfx. For more on SFX visit www.sfx.co.uk.
