Future Strengthens Entertainment Portfolio with Key Marketing Appointment

08/12/11

Special interest media group Future Publishing has announced the appointment of Sam Wight to the role of Group Marketing Manager for its Entertainment portfolio.

Prior to joining Future, Sam was Senior Marketing Manager at IPC Media, with key responsibility for brands including Nuts and casual games website Mousebreaker – working across online, video, mobile, apps and in print. Sam headed up the team which scooped the highly coveted ‘Best Digital Marketing Team’ in last month’s prestigious PPA Digital Publishing Awards.

With over eight years’ experience, Sam will lead the marketing team for Future’s Entertainment portfolio, which comprises multi-media brands including Total Film, SFX, CVG, GamesMaster and the Official Magazines for both Xbox and PlayStation. A key part of Sam’s new role will be driving forward an innovative marketing strategy for Future’s flagship movie brand Total Film. Drawing on her digital expertise, Sam will be responsible for the development of a multi-platform approach to marketing within the Entertainment division.

Sam begins her new role on 12th December, during the busy Christmas period, and will report into Group Publisher Clair Porteous.

Sam says: “The Entertainment portfolio at Future is brimming with fantastic brands, driving innovation across a range of multi-media touch points. Total Film is a truly cross-platform proposition, and the Games portfolio is world-leading. I’m delighted to be joining what is already a strong team, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Clair Porteous, Group Publisher, says: “Sam Wight is an outstanding multi-platform marketer whose appointment shows Future’s continued investment in digital. Sam will be responsible for driving the Entertainment brands forward across all platforms.”
