21/2/12 CrossStitcher, the number one craft magazine from Future Publishing, is celebrating its 250th issue and 20 year anniversary with a special birthday edition out tomorrow.
As the UK’s biggest selling craft title, CrossStitcher has led the market for two decades and is still going strong, with over 70,000 loyal readers picking up a copy each month.
By constantly evolving and refreshing its content and design, the magazine is as relevant today as when it launched as the UK’s first cross stitching magazine back in 1992, with the cover price of just £2.25
Giving readers something to celebrate, the 250th anniversary issue features some fantastic content including a unique project from the first ever issue of the magazine and a special pattern designed exclusively for CrossStitcher by renowned needlepoint designer Emily Peacock.
Cross stitching has recently enjoyed a significant revival and CrossStitcher has been a driving force behind its resurgence. The magazine’s forward thinking editorial team is always on the lookout for the latest trends and designers, which they then drip-feed to readers in the magazine, via social media and the new CrossStitcher blog.
Jenny Fox-Proverbs, Managing Editor of CrossStitcher, says: “Cross stitching has changed so we’re constantly evolving to stay ahead of new trends and appeal to the modern crafter. By collaborating with the likes of Felicity Hall, Emily Peacock and Jan Constantine, three of the biggest needlepoint designers in the world, we differentiate ourselves from the competition and offer our readers a truly unique experience.”
On the latest edition of CrossStitcher, contemporary needlepoint designer Felicity Hall commented: “I’ve just received the latest issue of CrossStitcher and think it’s brilliant! I hadn’t seen it for a while so I wanted to congratulate the CrossStitcher team for doing such a great job. It’s such a fabulous magazine and stands out from the other cross stitching titles on the market. It’s helping to generate new interest in the craft and has become a real inspiration to a lot of people – including myself!”
On the blog, CrossStitcher is celebrating with a week of competitions kicking off on Monday 13th February. Prizes include an annual subscription to CrossStitcher, a sewing machine from Singer Direct, a desk lamp from Daylight, £250 of Emma Bridgewater products, a Jubilee cushion designed by Emma Bridgewater, DoCrafts papercraft sections, and a selection of our craft bookazines!
The 250th issue of CrossStitcher is out on 22nd February priced at £3.99. It can be found in any good retailer or purchased online at MyFavouriteMagazines.
