Slash to Release Second Solo Album as Part of Exclusive Classic Rock Collector’s Fanpack

14/03/2012 Slash – one of the most legendary and revered guitarists in rock history – is set to unleash his second solo album as part of an exclusive Classic Rock collector’s Fanpack on 21 May.

The Fanpack will feature the full studio album plus two exclusive bonus tracks which are only available in this unique offering. The Fanpack will also include a 132-page deluxe magazine which delves deep into the world of the iconic former Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist. Key highlights include:

An in-depth interview with Slash and his singer and co-songriter Myles Kennedy
A full track-by-track breakdown of the new album with commentary from Slash and Myles
Interviews with album producer Eric Valentine and sleeve designer Frank Maddocks
An exclusive report from the one-off Velvet Revolver reunion earlier this year
A look at what the future holds for Slash – including the induction of Guns N’ Roses into this years Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
An exclusive competition to win a limited Slash Epiphone Les Paul guitar

The Fanpack will also include a pin badge and artwork poster, and will be available to buy via more than 2,000 retail outlets on newsstands nationally, as well as the traditional high street and online music retailers.

Chris Ingham, Future Publishing Music Group Publisher says: “Future’s Fanpack format has already proven to be a huge hit as it creates a whole new retail environment to sell premium priced albums. We have had fantastic sales of the Fanpack we created for the first Slash album and the Motörhead and Blondie albums since then.”

Danny Corr, Roadrunner Records Product Manager says: “Roadrunner are very pleased to be working once again with Future Publishing on a Fanpack edition of the new Slash album. After joining forces with Classic Rock to break the mould with the first Fanpack in existence (Slash’s first solo album in 2010) and then again with Machine Head’s ‘Unto The Locust’ in conjunction with Metal Hammer, we continue to see the incredible value that this physical product brings not only to the fans but in terms of distribution and presence at retail outside of the traditional music store experience.”

This second partnership with Slash delivers a new album, with exclusive-to-us extra tracks, in a deluxe format with a bespoke magazine and a host of additional extras – all for a premium price.

The new Slash album will follow his 2010 debut album Slash, which was also released in Fanpack format through Classic Rock and has now sold over 100,000 copies in the UK alone. For the new album, Slash – along with bandmates Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums) and Todd Kerns (bass) – sees Slash teaming up once again with producer Eric Valentine. All the songs were written by Slash and Kennedy, and the cameras have been rolling throughout the entire making of the album. About Slash:
Slash is widely considered one of the greatest rock guitar players of all time. He has received countless accolades and awards including his forthcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame set for April 2012. In 2007, Slash was inducted into Hollywood’s RockWalk (located in front of Guitar Center in Hollywood) alongside his idols Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix. An original member of iconic rock band Guns N’ Roses, the Grammy-winning Slash helped the band create signature sounds like the guitar riff of #1 hit “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “Welcome To The Jungle.”  The band dominated the 1980’s and 90’s music scene selling more than 100 million albums worldwide and ushered in a decade of hard-charging rock music. After leaving the band, Slash went on to critical acclaim in his personal project Slash’s Snakepit, and global success with the supergroup Velvet Revolver.  He has been widely sought after by the biggest musicians of all time, performing with everyone from Michael Jackson to Stevie Wonder to Ray Charles.  Slash recently landed on the top of the charts with his first true solo album, Slash.  In addition, Slash was honored by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce who named him as an official selection for 2011 to receive a star on Hollywood’s iconic Walk of Fame. In February 2011, he performed at the Super Bowl XLV half time show, seen by more than 106 million people, becoming the most-watched program in U.S. television history (Nielsen Co.).
