The Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2012 – Chris Jericho To Host

THE ONLY TRUE METAL AWARDS OF 2012

MONDAY 11TH JUNE – INDIGO2, LONDON

CHRIS JERICHO TO HOST

VOTING CLOSES IN TWO WEEKS VOTE NOW AT WWW.METALHAMMER.CO.UK

09/05/12 Metal Hammer and the Golden Gods have become institutions of rock and metal music worldwide, and this year frontman of Fozzy and one of the biggest names in world wrestling, Chris Jericho is taking up the hosting duties.

As well as playing at Download Festival just prior to the Golden Gods, Jericho, with his band Fozzy, will also be playing an exclusive set aboard HMS Hammer, one of two pre-show party boats for VIP’s and Metal Hammer competition winners.

On performing at – and hosting – the 10th Golden Gods, Chris Jericho says: “Your head is going to explode. Your brain is going to become liquefied. Your bones are going to crumble into dust… Crank it up! It’s going to be awesome.”

In the ten-year history of the Orange Amplification Presents The Metal Hammer Golden Gods In Association With Hobgoblin, the fans have been at the core of everything. The event is filled with true metal fans, the awards are perfectly tuned to what the core fanbase cares about, which is why a Golden God’s Gong is so sought after by the bands… they actually mean something!

Alex Milas, Editor of Metal Hammer says: “Over the course ten years the Metal Hammer Golden Gods have established themselves as the gold standard by which all other such affairs are measured. As the world’s only genuine metal awards show, we pride ourselves in the quality of acts that come to perform, party, and indeed pick up a gong on the night. Far from a mere industry affair though, we invite our readers along to celebrate with us, and this year we’re inviting one of their bands to play on our now-famous gig boat ahead of the event as part of our Hobgoblin Band Search. As we celebrate our mag’s 25th year of publication we’ll also be hoisting a goblet to over a decade of hosting the first, the best, and the heaviest metal awards show on the planet. Here’s to another 10. Chin-chin.”

2012 is building up to be bigger than ever for the Golden Gods, and with the awards representing true metal fans, voting has never been so important. With only two weeks left to vote go to http://goldengods.metalhammer.co.uk NOW to ensure you have had your say, as well as the chance of winning a place on HMS Hammer!
