24/05/12 Having hit new heights with its coverage of last year’s pivotal E3 gaming expo, Future Publishing’s flagship games news website CVG goes into this year’s exhibition at full strength with three new editorial appointments.
Deputy Editor Andy Robinson is promoted to Editor, having joined the site in 2005. He will oversee a team that leads the world in breaking gaming news – posting more than 1,000 items of content a month, 24 hours a day, from the UK, America and Australia.
Bringing fresh expertise to the CVG team is Rob Crossley, who is appointed Associate Editor. Rob joins from Intent Media’s Develop, where he was Online Editor.
Current Editor-in-Chief John Houlihan moves into the role of Digital Manager, with responsibility for keeping CVG at the forefront of online publishing.
Andy says: “CVG is at the cutting-edge of global gaming news and I am delighted to be appointed Editor. To lead a full-strength team into the next stage of the site’s evolution is an incredibly exciting opportunity, and I already have big plans for our coverage of E3 this year.”
Simon Maxwell, Group Publishing Director, says: “CVG grows stronger and more authoritative in its field with each year that passes, and its E3 coverage puts down a new marker each time. The editorial team is already remarkably in tune with the industry it serves, but with these new appointments, CVG will be as skilled and committed as it has ever been.”
E3 takes place in Los Angeles from June 5-7 and is an annual focal point for CVG’s unrivalled gaming coverage, which has grown richer, bolder and more avidly consumed since the website’s relaunch last June.
