Future’s ImagineFX launches Rising Stars 2012 Awards, in association with Corel Painter with £20k in prizes up for grabs

29/07/12 ImagineFX, the No.1 magazine for digital artists is launching its annual Rising Stars Awards, in partnership with leading digital art software company, Corel.

Now live on www.imaginefx.com, the competition will search out the digital art stars of tomorrow, with the winners taking a combined prize value of over £20,000, as well as the coveted title of being an ImagineFX Rising Star. Winners of the Master Artist category, sponsored by Corel Painter, are also awarded the Painter Master status.

The judging panel this year includes a host of industry experts and leaders in the field of digital design, including C B Cebulski, senior vice president of creative and creator development at Marvel. Previous ImagineFX Rising Star winner Anna Dittmann has also returned to share her advice to future entrants in the launch issue, on sale now. Anna recently collaborated with ImagineFX to create a split-run cover for their Fairytale Art issue, featuring Snow White and the Evil Queen.

Ian Dean, Editor of ImagineFX, says: “We’re delighted to be launching this year’s Rising Stars Awards; it’s a really fantastic way to showcase the new stars of the digital art world, and we’ve lined up a fantastic panel of judges. To have the chance to present your work in front of a panel like this really is a unique opportunity, and with such a high standard of work, it promises to be a fantastic competition.”

Tanya Lux, Senior Product Marketing Manager for Corel, adds: “Corel Painter is thrilled to be the premiere sponsor of the Rising Stars 2012 competition. This is such a great opportunity for us to support, inspire and uncover up-and-coming artists, while learning more about their creative process. We’re really looking forward to naming our new Painter Masters and working alongside them to champion their work!”

The competition is free to enter and is open to all ages. The closing date for the competition is 15th October; all 10 of the winners will feature in issue 90 of ImagineFX.
