12/07/12 Southern-rock pioneers Lynyrd Skynyrd are to premier their brand new studio album ‘Last Of A Dyin’ Breed’, as an exclusive Fanpack in partnership with Classic Rock. The band’s first full studio album since their 2009 ‘God & Guns’, will be exclusively available as a ‘Classic Rock Presents…’ Fanpack from 20th August − complete with four extra tracks and a bespoke 132-page magazine – four weeks’ ahead of its general release on 17th September.
The Fanpack’s collectible magazine, created by the editorial team behind Classic Rock, is the ultimate sleevenotes to the album, and includes extensive and exclusive interviews with all seven members of the band, including guitarist and founder member Gary Rossington, singer Johnny Van Zant and guitarist Rickey Medlocke.
The four extra tracks will include two unheard exclusive live recordings ‘Skynyrd Nation’ and ‘Gimme Three Steps’, andtwo bonus tracks ‘Poor Man’s Dream’ and ‘Do It Up Right’.
The Fanpack is everything fans need to know about ‘Last Of A Dyin’ Breed’, from the making of the album to a full track-by-track guide − all in the words of Rossington, Van Zant and Medlocke. The entire history of the iconic American band will be documented from the 1960s to the present day, a journey which has resulted in over 60 recorded albums and record sales exceeding 30 million. The devastating plane crash in 1977 will be discussed as well as a complete discography of Lynyrd Skynyrd, with expert reviews of every album.
This Fanpack follows hugely successful collaborations between Future Publishing and a number of world-renowned artists, most recently Rush and Slash. The unique format has proven extremely popular – bringing premium priced new material into a completely new retail setting in newsagents across the UK. And Classic Rock Presents Lynyrd Skynyrd ‘Last Of A Dyin’ Breed’ will be the latest in a growing line of modern classics launched through the Fanpack model.
