One of our core drives at Future is being able to change people’s lives. Usually this is through the content we make, but it’s also through our actions. Our staff in New York took this idea to heart this December by taking part in Secret Snowflake, a local initiative that provides handwritten letters and presents for underprivileged children over the holidays.
Our staff sponsored 75 children from the ages of two weeks to 18 years living in the Alice Branch shelter in Brooklyn and Town & Country transitional housing in the Bronx. Most of these children wouldn’t have had any presents on Christmas Day, but now they’ll wake up to new clothes, shoes, reading books, colouring books, art supplies, school supplies, toys and more. It’s a simple effort but one that makes a huge difference to struggling families.
Members of our Executive Leadership Team happily got involved too, including our CEO Zillah Byng-Thorne, CTO Kevin Li Ying and Commercial MD Jason Kemp.
It’s been truly heartwarming to watch the care and compassion staff put into finding presents and writing their letters. We couldn’t be prouder of their efforts over the last few weeks, and we hope all of our sponsored children have a wonderful Christmas.
