HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, guest edits Country Life to mark her 75th birthday

Future’s 125 year old iconic British magazine, Country Life, welcomes guest editor HRH The Duchess of Cornwall to take the reins for the July 13 edition.

HRH The Duchess of Cornwall’s issue will reflect her love of horses and dogs, together with her most cherished view, favourite recipe and her champions of the countryside. It will also celebrate the work of some of HRH’s 90-plus patronages, from Barnardo’s to The Royal School of Needlework and The Royal Society of Literature.

The commemorative issue is supported by an ITV programme, Camilla’s Country Life, which follows HRH’s journey as she works on the special issue.

The TV broadcast will raise awareness of the magazine, and bring the weekly magazine’s content to potential new audiences. Future’s subscription marketing team are responding to this increased awareness with a coordinated campaign to celebrate 125 years of Country Life, with a particular focus on the souvenir guest-edited issue by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall and the 6 issues for £6 subscriptions offer.

This has involved testing new marketing channels, assessing the potential audience size and market opportunity of Country Life magazine, and showcasing the additional value of brand factors such as the TV show, and what this can drive for the brand.

Country Life Editor-in-Chief Mark Hedges says, ‘It is a great honour that The Duchess of Cornwall has agreed to guest-edit Country Life in July. Her Royal Highness is a passionate countrywoman and we’re delighted that she follows her husband in presiding over this commemorative edition.’
