Record audience growth cements Future’s position as top US tech destination

Global digital powerhouse Future plc has cemented its position as the top tech destination in the US with record breaking audience figures  showing just under 30% of all Americans online visited one of its sites in November.

Its Future Tech Network, which comprises the world’s leading tech publications, saw a 17% audience increase month-over-month, reaching 88.7 million Americans.

The network, which includes brands Tom’s Guide, TechRadar, iMore, Android Central, and Windows Central, saw a 19% audience gain year-over-year. The phenomenal growth has been spearheaded by expansion into new content areas for leading tech brands Tom’s Guide and TechRadar.

AV brand What Hi-Fi! also saw a massive 75% month-over-month audience growth driven by Black Friday deals and Future’s expert content strategy.

Future’s tech publications attracted a consistently strong audience throughout 2021 and especially during the key Black Friday shopping period. The leading tech site helping consumers make better buying decisions, Tom’s Guide, saw its November eCommerce revenue increase 81% year-over-year, driven by the editorial team’s Black Friday deals strategy and rapid acceleration of new home and fitness technology content.

Alongside the rapid tech audience expansion, the recently acquired CinemaBlend saw exceptional audience performance reaching over 17.5 million Americans, resulting in month-over-month growth of 18%.

This growth is in large part due to the migration of CinemaBlend’s site to Future’s proprietary CMS platform, Vanilla. This in-house content management system that is optimized for SEO performance, has led to a year-over-year audience growth of 104% for CinemaBlend.

“Future’s editorial teams spend weeks laying the groundwork ahead of Black Friday, ensuring our content is performing for key shopping terms and achieving the highest search rankings,” said Aaron Asadi, SVP of Tech, Games & Entertainment at Future.

“We provide our audiences with a winning combination of unbiased product recommendations based on rigorous reviews and combine that with our proprietary Hawk eCommerce technology. This helps users identify recommended products at the best prices across multiple retailers.”

“Our expansion into new content areas and verticals in 2021 has resulted in a year of incredible overall growth for Future in both North America and the UK, and we’re thrilled to be finishing it off with strong audience growth performance,” said Asadi.
