Tween NFT artist named as one of most influential tech leaders of ’21

Number one destination for tech content Future plc has named a 12  year old as one of the most influential leaders in tech for the past year.

Nyla Hayes, who has made nearly $6m by selling NFTs of her art,  is the first person revealed as winning a Future 50 Tech Award, which recognises the people who have inspired, innovated and had the biggest impact in the world of consumer tech.

Speaking to TomsGuide, Nyla said: “My Long Neckies stand for diversity and women from all around the world. It’s meant to make people comfortable in their own skin and it’s meant to make young girls feel powerful about being themselves.

“NFTs enable my artwork to be seen by more people and blockchain provides me protection on my IP. ​​It is such an honor to be on this list. I truly believe NFTs will change the world,” 

The full list of tech influencers will   Future 50 Tech Influencers of 2021 included familiar luminaries like Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, along with outstanding upstarts like teen scientist Neha Shukla, who created a life-saving wearable device to help slow the spread of Covid-19 and Nyla Hayes, an artist who at the age of 12, has earned over $3 million selling her hand-drawn NFTs.

Criteria for inclusion in the Future Tech Awards included evidence of innovation in the field of consumer technology, evidence of impact, and tangible results that inspired admiration from consumers and peers. 

The shortlist and the winners of the Future Tech Awards are chosen by a panel of expert editors from the world’s leading tech websites, including Tom’s Guide and TechRadar. Judges also considered business success and company performance.
